As well as being a wonderful hotel and restaurant Glewstone has also been the family home of my parents, my siblings and me for the past 24 years.
This atmosphere of Glewstone as our home is something that really comes across during all of the weddings we are lucky enough to hold here, with the unique and relaxed ambience of The Court really making it a home away from home for you and your guests for the few precious days leading up to, during and after your wedding.
Wedding days at The Court are such a happy affair, with everyone gathering in the morning for Bill’s breakfast, before pottering off to various corners of the house for the all- important wedding prep.
Brides and maids sequester themselves in the huge honeymoon suite while the rest of the party relax with a cup of tea in front of our log fires in the winter, or out in our gorgeous grounds with a long, cool (possibly boozy) drink in the summer, before donning their glad rags for the big event.
“Dear Kate, Bill, Christine and all the staff, Chris and I would like to thank you so much for all your hard work to give us the wedding of our dreams. Holding our wedding at Glewstone was amazing, and even though you have other weddings there I always felt I was the only bride to get married at The Court”
Sally and Chris, married 6th September 2010
Glewstone is such a special venue in any season. It’s fantastic in the summer, with guests spilling out over the lawn under the cedar tree, chatting by the fountain and enjoying panoramic views of the rolling countryside. It’s equally wonderful in the winter, with roaring fires in all of our reception rooms, candles casting their soft glow throughout, and just before and after Christmas our famous 25 footer Christmas tree going all the way up through the spiral staircase to the top of the 2nd floor landing-magical.
It is vitally important to us that Glewstone is not ‘Just another wedding venue’ and as such we have no specific ‘wedding packages’. No two weddings are the same here, and the best bit of any Glewstone wedding day is seeing how each couple imprints their personality and reflects their relationship on the house for the day.
Throughout the whole planning process I am your designated ‘go to girl’, happy to answer any questions, give advice if needed, and recommend everything from florists through beauticians to photographers. I am a keen amateur flower arranger so delighted to do the simpler table centres if you wish, and on one very happy although rather floury occasion I have even made cup cake wedding cakes for one lovely bride.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
