OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY

Herefordshire and the Wye Valley

HAY FESTIVAL OF LITERATURE
31 May – 10 June
Hay on Wye
Probably the most famous literature festival in the world.  Last year’s line-up inluded Joanna Trollope, Rob Lowe and Nigella Lawson. www.hayfestival.com

THREE COUNTIES SHOW
15 – 17 June
Three Counties Showground, Malvern
One of the country’s most prestigious agricultural shows with cattle, sheep, equestrian, poultry, goat classes, not to menion food and drink, dramatic displays, a rural skills tent.  A showcase of the best of British food, farming and rural life.  www.threecounties.co.uk

LINTON FESTIVAL
15 – 17 June
The Alma Inn, Linton, Ross on Wye
A small music festival with a big reputation and huge appeal.  So far the line up for 2012 includes guitarist Chantel McGregor, King Mo from Holland and blues guitarist Oli Brown.  01989 720355

THREE CHOIRS FESTIVAL
21 – 28 July
Hereford Cathedral
The cathedral choirs of Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester unite for one of the world’s oldest and best classical choral music festivals that dates back to the 18th Century. www.3choirs.org./home

ROYAL WELSH SHOW
23 – 26 July
Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells, Powys
The big one on the Welsh agricultural calendar which attracts nearly 230,000 people across the four days.  There will be livestock, horses, horticulture, food and drink.  www.rwas.co.uk

NOZSTOCK FESTIVAL
27 – 29 July
Nozstock, Herefordshire
Around 120 acts take to the eight stages over the weekend from dance and drama to comedy and, of course, lots of live music. www.nozstock.com

HEREFORDSHIRE COUNTRY FAIR
5 August
Whitfield Court, Herefordshire
